In the Spartans' January meeting against the Runnin' Bulldogs Upstate walked away with its fifth conference win of the season after a 78-59 finish in Boiling Springs, N.C. Four Spartans scored in double figures against the Runnin' Bulldogs including Jeni Levine and Isabell West both of which scored 13 points. AC Markham also had a solid showing last time out against Gardner-Webb with nine points and 11 rebounds.
Players to Watch
USC Upstate: Trinity Johnson had yet another exceptional showing, posting her second consecutive 20+ point performance this season. Johnson was awarded the Big South Co-Player of the Week on Monday after her 20-point game against UNC Asheville on Saturday afternoon. Isabell West continues to lead the Spartans' stats with 265 points, averaging 10.6 points per game, 163 rebounds, 12 assists, 23 steals, and 16 blocks.
Gardner-Webb:
Grace Pack led the Runnin' Bulldogs with 17 points against the Bucs at home on Saturday afternoon. Pack also collected 11 boards to earn her first double-double of the season. Ashley Hawkins also had a double-digit scoring game with 10 points against Charleston Southern. Hawkins leads the team with 357 points, averaging 14.9 points per game, 87 rebounds, 133 assists, 18 steals and three blocks.
