HIGH POINT, N.C. - Rounding out the week, Upstate Men's Soccer traveled to High Point, North Carolina returning to Big South Conference play for Sunday night action against No. 5, High Point University where the Panthers were able to use two second half goals to overcome the Spartans with a final score of 2-0.
The first half opened with both opponents starting fast on the offensive end, taking early shots on frame. The Spartans looked to take the early lead with numbers advantage, but a wide left shot kept the match scoreless. High Point's offense would be unable to get their offense going through the first 45 minutes with Upstate keeping it zero. The action continued through the second half where the Panthers were able to enter the scoring column with a 75th-minute goal taking the lead and following with a goal at the 82nd minute. The Spartans' offense was limited to four shots in the second compared to High Point taking 12 which gave the Panthers the advantage for a 2-0 final score.
