CHARLOTTE, N.C. – For the third time through four weeks of the 2025 season, USC Upstate volleyball finds itself with three Big South Conference weekly award winners, bringing home the league's Player, Setter, and Freshman of the Week as announced Monday afternoon.
Ady O'Grady,
Kamyla Vega David, and
Kensley Haneline captured the honors, their third, third, and second, respectively, of the season.
A Hilton Head Island, S.C. native, O'Grady proved the conference's leading scorer last week, notching 58.0 points, an average of 5.27 points per set. She scored her points behind a league-best 47 kills (4.27 per set), including a league-high and an Upstate Division I era (2007-pres.) single-match record for middle blockers, 23 kills versus The Citadel. Her 23 terminations against the Bulldogs came behind a .538 hitting percentage, helping her to a .415 efficiency on the week.
A native of Carolina, Puerto Rico, Vega David paced all league setters in total assists and assists per set, passing out 121 for an average of 11.00 per set. She closed the week as the only player in the league to average greater than 9.00 assists per set. She also totaled nine blocks on the week, tops among league setters, a total that included a career-high-tying five total blocks against Northern Arizona.
Haneline, hailing from Shelby, N.C., led all Big South freshmen in total kills, kills per set, total points, and points per set, accruing 38 kills (3.45 per set) and 42.5 points (3.86 per set). She ranked second among league rookies in hitting percentage, posting a .360 efficiency, spurred by a career-high .598 hitting percentage versus The Citadel. She threw down a career-best 18 kills in the match with the Bulldogs.
