Event Preview
USC Upstate Track and Field returns to Tryon International for the Tryon Mid-Winter Classic on Friday and Saturday. The Spartans have competed there once already this season, having set three school records and 32 top performances. Most recently at the VMI Winter Relays, the men's and women's teams combined for 36 top performances and 22 personal bests.

Athletes to Watch
Competing in the men's triple jump, Xavier Stone looks to continue his momentum in the event, having placed first in two consecutive meets and broken the school record. Jeremiah Harris had a top performance in the 200m at VMI, running a 21.53 to put him second all-time in school history and second in the Big South.

For the women, Jenelda Aristhil remains steady in the women's weight throw, coming off a first-place finish at VMI. Aristhil threw a distance of 17.91m, a distance that currently puts her second in the Big South. Taylor Thomas secured first place in women's shot put.
