Event Preview
USC Upstate Track and Field returns to Tryon International for the third time this season, competing in the Big South Indoor Championship. Other competing teams include Charleston Southern, Gardner-Webb, High Point, Radford, Longwood, UNC Asheville, and Winthrop.
In the regular season, the Spartans earned two meet wins at VMI on the men's team and a runner-up and fourth-place finish for the women's team. A total of eight school records have been set, and three Spartans have collected Big South Weekly Awards.
Athletes to Watch
Collin Bui-Hayes is a freshman who has made an impact, setting the school record in the men's 60m earlier this season. He has collected two Big South Freshman of the Week Honors. In the men's triple jump, Xavier Stone has shown success, setting a school record in the event. Last season at the indoor championship, Stone took home the bronze in the event.
In women's shot put, Taylor Thomas has placed first in the event three different times this season. Aryanna Perez is a Spartan to watch for the women's pentathlon. Perez has already etched her name into the school history books this season, ranking third all-time in the event with 2966 points.

Up Next for the Spartans
If qualified, the NCAA Indoor Championships are March 13-14, hosted by Arkansas. The Spartans will also set their eyes on the outdoor season, competing in the 49er Classic March 20-21.
