Women's Hoops Begins Back-to-Back Home Games Against High Point on Wednesday Night

SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The USC Upstate women's basketball program have the potential to sweep its second Big South opponent and pick up conference win number 10 as the Panthers of High Point come to the G.B. Hodge Center for a Wednesday night Big South match up.

First Time This Season 

In the Spartans' January meeting against the Panthers, Upstate was able to pull off a 59-49 win for its second win in the overall series with High Point and its second consecutive road win over High Point. Four Spartans scored in double figures, including Feb. 12th Big South Co-Player of the Week Trinity Johnson who led the charge with 14 points after going 9-11 for free throws. Jeni Levine (12), AC Markham (11), and Isabell West (10) all had excellent offensive performances as well to help Upstate earn its second win over High Point.  

Players to Watch 
USC Upstate: Johnson's 20-point performance on Saturday afternoon against UNC Asheville not only earned her Co-Player of the Week honors but also helped Upstate reach nine conference wins. The grad student sits with 219 points, averaging 9.5 points per game, 98 rebounds, 109 assists, 48 steals, and two blocks. Isabell West leads the Spartans' stat lines with 260 points, 156 rebounds, 21 steals, 16 blocks, and 11 assists.  

High Point:  

Ashley Hawkins led the Panthers to a 75-72 victory on Saturday night against the Runnin' Bulldogs of Gardner-Webb. Hawkins finished with 22 points after going 8-10 from the free throw line and 7-20 from the field. Despite a quiet night against Gardner-Webb, Lauren Bevis continues to lead the Panthers this season with 374 points, averaging 16.3 points per game, 80 rebounds, 20 assists, 24 steals, and two blocks.
