Event Preview
 Hosted by the University of Virginia, USC Upstate men's and women's cross-country head to Charlottesville for the NCAA Southeast Regional on Friday. The Spartans have 14 different runners competing in both the men's and women's races.

After earning Big South All-Conference Second Team Honors at the Big South Championship, Jordan Thornton has led the women's team all season. Thornton has posted sub-20-minute times in every race, setting a PR at the Queen City Invite with a time of 18:07. Sophia Outhous finished second for the Spartans at the Big South Championship with her time of 19:46.

Sam Shimanskiy has been one of the top runners all season long for the men. Shimanskiy earned Big South Second Team All-Conference honors with his time of 25:28 at the Big South Championship. Earlier this season, Shimanskiy put up a time of 25:03 in the SWAGS Louisville Cross Country Classic. His time was not only a PR, but also a time that ranks him second all-time in school history. Ian Kelbert has been another top runner for the men's team this season.

If the Spartans qualify, the NCAA Cross Country Championship will be held November 22, 2025, at Gans Creek Cross Country Course in Columbia, Missouri.
