CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – USC Upstate men's and women's cross country made the trip to Charlottesville for the NCAA Southeast Regional. Racing against top competition, the Spartans capped off a strong 2025 season.
Head Coach
Carson Blackwelder stated, "The regional meet is the highest quality meet we will see all year, national-level runners. The race requires you to go out fast and hold on. All of the Upstate runners went out quick and battled through the 2nd half of the race."
For the men's 10k,
Sam Shimanskiy led with his time of 33:03. Four different Spartans set personal records in today's race, with
Nick Brooks posting a time of 33:32 for a new personal record.
Coach Blackwelder praised Brooks, saying, "
Nick Brooks had a great race. He moved up and attacked the 2nd half of the race. He moved up 56 places after the 2k to finish as our 2nd man today."
