
Spartans Conclude Play At ITA Southeast Regionals

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The USC Upstate women's tennis team concluded its play at the ITA Southeast Regionals on Friday afternoon at Wake Forest University's Indoor Tennis Center.
Senior Anna Novo (Caracas, Venezuela/El-Angel), ranked 124th in the nation, fell to Tennessee's Rosalia Alda in the opening round of 64, 6-3, 6-1. The senior, who holds the school's career singles wins record with 74, finishes the fall with a 10-4 singles record.
Novo and the Spartans get back on the court on Jan. 26 at Presbyterian for their first dual meet of the season. Upstate finished the 2007-08 season with a 17-3 dual meet record and a perfect 11-0 in the Atlantic Sun Conference, winning the school's first outright league title at the Division I level.
