
Spartans Take Three Of Four Matches On First Day Of Wofford Fall Challenge

SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The USC Upstate women's tennis team started off the Wofford Fall Challenge by claiming three of the first four matches, all against Wofford, on Friday afternoon at the Reeves Tennis Complex. The Wofford Fall Challenge is laid out in a team vs. team round robin format, with no team results being kept.
Senior Anna Novo (Caracas, Venezuela/El-Angel) and sophomore Emilia Milovanovic (Paris, France/CNED) started the days with an 8-4 win over the doubles team of Sonia Anand and Ashley Lawrence.
The duo then claimed singles wins, with Novo notching a 6-1, 6-3 win over Cayley Wetzig and Milovanovic splitting two sets with Sonia Anand, 2-6, 6-4 before winning the super tiebreak, 12-10.
The whole Spartan squad will be back in action on Saturday at the USC Upstate Tennis Complex to wrap up their portion of the Wofford Fall Challenge, facing East Carolina and Gardner-Webb.
