"I think the whole team was disappointed that we couldn't score better both days," saod Upstate head coach Todd Lawton. "Overall we hit the ball well, we just needed to putt better and take advantage of the opportunities we had. It was the first time we played at this elevation, dealing with the wind and how the ball carried. It was a good tournament to get experience."
Eastern Michigan's Catherine Fortin turned in a 77 Sunday and held off Northern Arizona's Sophia Choi by a stroke to win the individual title. Fortin finished with a 150 total, while Choi came in at 151.
Twin sisters Richia and Richelle Wedzik finished in a tie for 21st as the low Spartans in the tournament. Both golfers finished with 162 totals to finish 12 strokes back of the tournament champion. Julie Miller was the third lowest Spartan, finishing in a tie for 34th with a 165 total.
