
Spartans Wrap Up Second Day At The UNF Fall Invitational

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Junior Emilia Milovanovic split a pair of singles matches in the championship bracket of the `C' draw at the UNF Hampton Inn 9A & Baymeadow Fall Tennis Invitational, advancing to the quarterfinals before falling to Central Florida's Taylor Dubins, 7-5, 6-2, to highlight the USC Upstate women's tennis team's action on Saturday at the UNF Tennis Complex.
Milovanovic posted a 7-5, 3-6, 6-1 win over Krista Cole of UAB in the second round before facing Dubins in the quarterfinals. Milovanovic posted a 6-1, 6-1 win over Bethune-Cookman's Jeneice Ward in the first round of singles play on Friday.
In other singles play, sophomore Ana-Sofia Camberos advanced to the quarterfinals of the `B' consolations singles flight as she advanced through a withdrawal. She will face Lindsey Mallory of Samford at 8 a.m. on Sunday. Cinthya Lazaro also advanced to the semifinals of the `B' consolations thanks to a withdrawal and will face the winner of match between Morgan Bechtel of Florida Gulf Coast and Richole Berger of UAB at 12 p.m. on Sunday.
Freshman Catherine Estupinan advanced to the quarterfinals of the `C' flight consolation draw, as she downed FGCU's Maggie Caulk, 2-6, 6-0, 10-8, for her first collegiate career win. She will move on to face Jessica Diamond of Samford at 9 a.m. on Sunday.
The third day of the UNF Fall Invitational will start at 8 a.m. at the UNF Tennis Center.
