Spartanburg, S.C. - Due to constant rain over the last week and the abuse the field took in a soccer doubleheader Friday night, the stadium field at County University Soccer Stadium has been deemed unplayable, forcing the soccer doubleheader on Sunday to be moved to the practice fields at Upstate.
The soccer doubleheader will be played on Field 2 at the practice fields located across the street from the Louis P. Howell Athletic Complex at Upstate. The fields are used as a practice site for Upstate's men's and women's soccer teams, as well as serving as playing fields for youth soccer teams in the Spartanburg area.
The men's soccer game with Florida Gulf Coast will start at its regularly scheduled time of 12:00 noon. The women's game with Mercer will follow at 3:00 p.m. Due to the lack of power at the practice fields, there will be no ASun.TV broadcast of the games, though live statistical updates will still be available through Gametracker on the official Upstate Athletics Web site, www.upstatespartans.com.
