Giustina Memorial Classic Final Results
Corvallis, Ore. - Jennifer Judge turned in her third solid round of the tournament and finished as the low Upstate women's golfer in the Giustina Memorial Classic Tuesday afternoon at Trysting Tree Golf Club.
Judge finished the tournament with rounds of 82, 81 and 82 to finish tied for 37th with a 245 total. Natalie Buch continued to show progress as well, finishing with an 83 in just her second collegiate tournament. She finished tied for 42nd.
"Natalie is putting herself in a position to do better and is gaining confidence," said Upstate head coach Todd Lawton. "With more and more experience, she is showing that she can improve."
Upstate turned in a 335 Tuesday afternoon and finished the tournament in 10th with a 999 total. Oregon won the tournament championship with an 896 total and was followed by Washington State (921), Wyoming (926), Oregon State (929), Nevada (931), Cal Poly (935), Hawai'i (952), Boise State (953), Portland (956) and Upstate (999).
"We saw a lot of positives in the tournament," said Lawton. "We saw improvement in our scores, but we have a long way to go. We are so young that it is good to get tournament experience so that the players can see what they have to do to shoot good scores. Adjusting to different playing conditions is crucial for our younger players. We have a lot of work to do moving forward, but we have seen some encouraging things so far."
Cheryl Lo tied Buch in 42nd position, finishing with an 85 Tuesday. Johanna Ebenhag turned in an 85 on Tuesday and finished 49th, while Summer Wall was 50th.
Oregon's Kendra Little finished the tournament at 2-under-par 214 to win the individual championship.
