Women's Tennis Wraps-up Opening Weekend

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – To open the 2010 fall season, the USC Upstate women's tennis team competed at this weekend's USC Upstate Fall Classic at the Upstate Tennis Complex.
Both Talia Rojas and Ana Sofia Camberos advanced to the second round in singles 'A', but both Spartans fell in straight sets. Rojas fell to Ali Beeler of Georgia Southern 4-6, 6-7, while Camberos was defeated 0-6, 1-6, by Vera Shkundina of Kennesaw State.
The Spartan pair of Rojas and Camerbos advanced to the semifinals of the doubles 'B', but fell to Lourdes Ros and Dominek Wallaart of Campbell 3-8.
Upstate will take nearly a month off from competition before heading to Davidson, N.C., for the Davidson Tournament (Oct. 15-17, 2010).
