SPARTANBURG, S.C. – After having the last two weekends off, the USC Upstate women's tennis team hits the road for the Elon Fall Invitational.
At the Upstate Fall Classic, Talia Rojas fell to Karina Kedzo (ETSU) in the semifinals (women's singles). In doubles action, the Spartan duo of Rojas and Isabel von Stryk fell in the semifinals to Kedzo/Diana Navrostska by a score of 8-3.
Following this weekend's event, the Spartans will close out the fall season at the ITA Regional in Chapel Hill, N.C. (Oct. 20-22).
Spartan Volleys…
• All seven Spartans competed at the Upstate Fall Classic and Talia Rojas advance to the semifinals of the women's singles. Rojas and Isabel von Stryk reached the semifinals in women's doubles.
• Hannah Al-Sakati (Fr.), Julie Bell (Jr.), Lauren Byars (Fr.) and Isabel von Stryk (Fr.) join returners Ana-Sofia Camberos (Sr.), Talia Rojas (So.), Maria Tonani (Jr.) for the 2011-12 season.
• Dr. Oliver Trittenwein is in his second season at the helm of the Upstate tennis program.
