Jacksonville, Fla. – Rachel Lewis shot an opening round 80 to lead the USC Upstate women's golf team at the JU Classic at Hidden Hills Country Club Sunday afternoon. The Spartans stand sixth in the seven-team field heading into the second round on Monday.
The JU Classic is hosted by A-Sun foe Jacksonville. The Dolphins and Spartans are two of four A-Sun teams in the tournament that is being played over 54 holes, with 18 holes being played each day. The final round will be played Tuesday morning.
Upstate opened the tournament with a 337 total. Jacksonville shot a 298 to take the early lead. The Dolphins lead Miami (299) by a stroke.
