Women's Tennis to Open Home Conference Slate on Friday

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – On Friday morning, the USC Upstate women's tennis team will open its home conference slate as they welcome in the North Florida Ospreys for a 10:00 a.m. match.
Following the match with the Ospreys, the Spartans will return to action on Saturday when they host Jacksonville at 10:00 a.m.
Last weekend, the Spartans opened conference play and fell on the road at both Stetson and Florida Gulf Coast.
Spartan Volleys…
• Since making the move to D-I, the women's tennis squad owns a 22-7 mark in matches played in March.
• In the D-I era, the Spartans own a combined record of 28-9 in matches played on Fridays (12-4) and Saturdays (16-5).
• Karen Martinez picked up a win at singles number two last Saturday as she downs Bibiana Almeida of Florida Gulf Coast, 6-4, 4-6, 10-6.
