Spartans Finish Play at Spider Invitational at St. James Plantation

Southport, N.C. – USC Upstate shot a final round 361 and finished 11th in the Spider Invitational at St. James Plantation Sunday afternoon. The Spartans finished 10 strokes ahead of The Citadel on the leaderboard.
Upstate finished 11th in the 54-hole tournament with a total of 1070 following rounds of 351, 358 and 361. The Citadel shot 1080 for the tournament.
Boston College, which entered the final round in first place, and Charleston Southern, which entered Sunday in second place, tied for the team championship with a 963 total. Boston College finished with a round of 323, while Charleston Southern shot 317 to vault into a tie for the title.
UNC Pembroke was third with a 977 total and was followed by Delaware (983), Richmond (989), Winthrop (989), Wofford (995), Presbyterian College (1004), Appalachian State (1005), Gardner-Webb (1019), Upstate (1070) and The Citadel (1080).
Amanda Hall (Tega Cay, S.C.) finished with a round of 84 on Sunday and finished tied for 47th with a 263 total. She tied teammate Brittany Lowe (Spartanburg, S.C.) in the tournament. Lowe carded a 93 on Sunday to finish with a 263 total.
Taylor Pleier (Spartanburg, S.C) tied Hall for the low round of the day on the Upstate team. Her 84 allowed her to post a 265 total and finish tied for 51st. Madison Bryant (Chapin, S.C.) finished tied for 59th with a 281 total, while Kristi Goodman (Easley, S.C.) finished 63rd with a 294 total.
Marissa Clontz (Greenville, S.C.) and Kaitlin Prescott (Piedmont, S.C.) each played as individuals in the tournament. Clontz finished 57th with a 276 total, while Prescott tied for 64th.
Boston College's Katia Joo won the individual title by four strokes with a 230 total.
