SPARTANBURG, S.C. – After opening the season with a win on the road and a loss at home, the USC Upstate women's soccer team is hoping this weekend's road swing will serve them well as they battle Navy on Friday evening and Liberty University on Sunday afternoon.
Upstate is 0-1 all-time against Navy with the only meeting coming in 2009, while the Spartans and Flames will meet for the first time in program history this weekend.

Quick Hits
Righting the Ship: Upstate is looking to get back in the win column Friday evening against the Midshipmen and avoid its first losing streak of the year.
Meet Virginia: The Spartans will look to stay perfect in the state of Virginia on Sunday at Liberty after taking out VMI 1-0 in double overtime in Lexington last Friday.
Big South Again: After splitting their first two games against the Big South Conference, the Spartans will have the chance to get back on the winning side of things at Liberty. Upstate will play six games against the Big South this fall with contests still on tap against Presbyterian, UNC Asheville and Gardner-Webb.
Moving on Up: Michelle Calmeyn has been in the mix on both goals for the Spartans this season, tallying an assist on Tamaya Tompoe's game-winner at VMI, and scoring the go-ahead goal against Charleston Southern. With three points this season, the sophomore has taken over as the program's all-time Division I era leader in points with 16.
Restless Freshmen: A pair of freshmen lead the team in minutes played through two games as Alexa Hone is the only Spartan to play in all 197 minutes of action and Courtney Reilly is not far behind with 190 minutes on the season.
Moment with Minihan
Head coach Abby Minihan talks about her team after battling back to take down VMI in the season-opener. The win was the first career coaching victory for the University of Michigan graduate.
"We came out a little bit slow. I think we were nervous and apprehensive with it being the first game and we had some different people in the starting lineup, but we responded well in the second half and battled the entire game."
"I was so pleased with the play off the bench, we made a lot of substitutions and the level of play never dropped off."
