Spartanburg, S.C. – The USC Upstate women's soccer team puts the finishing touches on the 2013 regular season this weekend when the Spartans head back out on the road to face Northern Kentucky Friday at 7 p.m. and Lipscomb Sunday at 2 p.m.
Upstate enters play coming off a weekend that saw the Spartans post a 1-1-0 record after posting a 1-0 win over Jacksonville Friday night at County University Soccer Stadium. Senior Rebecca Sanzsole scored the only goal of the game and Sarah Plantz made eight saves in helping Upstate set a school record for the most wins in a season during the Division I era. In addition, it was the program's first-ever win over Jacksonville.
Northern Kentucky opens the weekend having not won a game since defeating Youngstown State 3-2 on Sept. 15. The Norse snapped a seven-game losing streak Sunday after playing to a scoreless draw with Lipscomb. Lipscomb has won only one of its last five games, but has posted three draws during that time frame.
