
Spartans Host Jacksonville, North Florida in Regular Season Finale

Spartanburg, S.C. – The USC Upstate volleyball team concludes its regular season this weekend at it hosts the Jacksonville Dolphins and North Florida Ospreys at the Hodge Center.
The Spartans head into the weekend 4-22 overall and 3-13 in the league. Jacksonville sits in second place of the conference standings with a 25-3 record and 14-2 mark against conference opponents. North Florida is in front of Upstate in the league with a 10-18 overall record and 6-10 mark in conference play.
Friday's contest with Jacksonville will also be Senior Day for Upstate. Prior to the match, seniors Morgan Page and Amanda Carroll will be honored in a pre-game ceremony. Senior Day festivities are scheduled to begin at 6:50 p.m.
Kayla Eversgerd leads the Spartans this season with 354 kills and is second with 318 digs. Lexi Gober has a team-best 867 assists, 26 service aces and .276 hitting percentage. Emily Koelling is first on the team with 50 total blocks and second with 242 kills. Page posts a team-high 349 digs. Eversgerd is fifth in the conference in kills, Gober ranks eighth in assists and Page is second in digs per set with 4.42.
Jacksonville is led by first-year head coach Michelle Collier. The Dolphins lead the all-time series over the Spartans 8-2. JU won the first match earlier this season in Jacksonville 3-0.
North Florida is under the direction of second-year head coach Steve Loeswick. The Ospreys hold a 29-5 all-time series lead over Upstate, including a 3-1 victory in Jacksonville on Oct. 18.
