
Baran Reaches Semifinals at Terrier Fall Invitational

Spartanburg, S.C. – USC Upstate freshman Ana Baran posted a victory in her only match of the day and advanced to the semifinals of the consolation bracket in the white singles bracket Saturday afternoon at the Terrier Fall Invitational hosted by Wofford College.
Baron defeated Liza Klyachkin of Mercer 6-4, 4-6, 10-8 and will face Catherin Martin of Wofford Sunday morning at 11 a.m. In her first match of the event, Baran fell 2-6, 3-6, on Friday to Wofford's Mareli Sanchez.
Junior Lindsey Buenger has yet to complete a match in the tournament, as her initial contest with McKinsey Fiveash of Georgia Southern was postponed due to inclement weather. The match will resume Sunday morning at 8:30 a.m. for the right to play in the finals against Catherine White of Gardner-Webb.
