Spartanburg, S.C. – The USC Upstate men's soccer team will close out the regular season Saturday on Senior Night at County University Soccer Stadium. The Spartans will play host to Northern Kentucky at 7:00 p.m. Upstate will honor seniors Akin Adediji, Derek Dearmond, James Hadley, Michael Rankin-Byrne and Spencer Woodstock prior to the start of the game.
Upstate has not played since dropping its last match at ETSU on Oct. 30. The Spartans have four points in the A-Sun standings and will look to close out the regular season with a win over a Northern Kentucky squad that is tied for third in the league but unable to qualify for the upcoming A-Sun Tournament while it serves its transitional period to Division I.
The series between Upstate and Northern Kentucky is a short one with the teams meeting for the first time last year. The Norse took a 1-0 victory in Highland Heights, Ky., on Oct. 31 and own a 1-0-0 lead in the series. Saturday's game will be the first visit for NKU to Spartanburg and County University Soccer Stadium.
