Spartans Finish Play at Wake Forest Invitational

Winston-Salem, N.C. – Led by a singles victory from senior Isabel von Stryk, the USC Upstate women's tennis team wrapped up competition on day three of the Wake Forest Invitational from the Wake Forest Tennis Complex.
Von Stryk turned in a 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 victory over Emilia Granstrom of Western Kentucky in the A singles consolation bracket to cap a weekend in which she posted a 2-1 overall record.
Sophomore Anna Zoske suffered a 6-0, 6-2 setback to Amanda Keller of Navy in the C singles consolation bracket, while freshman Nona Ruppert was defeated 7-6 (10), 6-2 by Lisa Grosselius of Charlotte in the E singles consolation bracket. Both Zoske and Ruppert went 1-2 during the three-day tournament.
Upstate returns to the courts Oct. 16-19 when the Spartans take part in the ITA Carolina Regional from Durham, N.C.
