
Weather Shortens Day Two of Terrier Intercollegiate

Spartanburg, S.C. – Sharlee Deshmukh captured the doubles title in the consolation round of the gray bracket to lead USC Upstate on the second day of the Terrier Intercollegiate from the Reeves Tennis Center.
All singles play was postponed until Sunday due to inclement weather in the Upstate area.
Deshmukh, playing alongside Daria Iurchenko of Arkansas State, turned in an 8-2 victory over Dominique Bruce and Lucy Stofberg of Lenoir-Rhyne to win the title.
In the black bracket, None Ruppert and Nina Roell suffered an 8-3 loss to Giulia Riepe and Francisca Norregaard of Georgia Southern in the consolation semifinals, but answered with an 8-3 victory over Yvonne Kamegne and Mafalda Lhorca of Norfolk State to take fourth place.
Competition begins Sunday morning at 9 a.m. with the completion of singles.
