
Upstate Ranked No. 24 in Both National Top 25 Polls

Spartanburg, S.C. – USC Upstate will enter the NCAA Tournament's Tuscaloosa Regional ranked No. 24 in both the USA Today/NFCA and ESPN.com/USA Softball Top 25 polls released Tuesday.
Upstate fell three spots from No. 21 to No. 24 in the NFCA poll after going 1-2 last week at the A-Sun Tournament. The Spartans garnered 63 votes in the poll and are sandwiched between LSU (69) and James Madison (42) in the poll. Upstate garnered 31 votes in the USA Softball poll and is sandwiched between LSU (65) and Wisconsin (26) in the poll. Last week's No. 21 ranking in the NFCA poll was the highest the program has ever been ranked.
Upstate has now been ranked in both national Top 25 polls for six straight weeks and seven weeks total this season. Both are program records.
Upstate is one of three teams playing in the Tuscaloosa Regional to be ranked in both Top 25 polls. Alabama is ranked No. 5 in both polls, while South Alabama is 21st in the USA Softball poll and 22nd in the NFCA poll.
