
Von Stryk Takes Fourth at Elon Fall Invitational

Elon, N.C. – USC Upstate senior Isabel von Stryk finished in fourth place in the A-1 singles flight on Sunday to highlight competition at the Elon Fall Invitational from the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center.
Von Stryk, who had advanced to the semifinals of the flight earlier in the tournament, was defeated 6-1, 6-4 on Sunday by Mariely Hassey of Liberty in her one and only match of the day. Von Stryk also placed seventh in the A-1 doubles flight after she and Nona Ruppert defeated Gemma Valls and Taylor Newman of Radford 8-2.
Sophomore Anna Zoske and freshman Nina Roll took eighth place in the A-2 doubles flight following an 8-3 setback to Grace Sarver and Meg Napolitano of Radford.
Upstate returns to action on Friday when the Spartans host the USC Upstate Fall Classic. The three-day event will take place at the USC Upstate Tennis Complex.
