
Spartans Tackle Big South Schools in Games Against Winthrop, PC

Spartanburg, S.C. – The USC Upstate men's soccer will be back in action this week when it takes on a pair of schools from the Big South Conference in games at Winthrop and at home against Presbyterian.
Upstate The Spartans will travel to Rock Hill to take on Winthrop Wednesday evening at 6 before returning home to face Presbyterian Saturday night at 7. Winthrop enters the game with a 3-2-0 record, while Presbyterian enters the week 1-2-0. The Spartans enter the week with a 1-2-0 record after splitting their matches at the Jay Sculley Memorial Tournament at VMI. The Spartans defeated VMI, 2-0, on Friday and dropped a 3-1 decision to Liberty.
Upstate owns the lead in both all-time series against the two teams. The Spartans are 7-5-0 versus Winthrop and 16-6-3 against Presbyterian in a pair of series which date back to 1980, Upstate's first year playing soccer.
