Zoske, von Stryk Capture Doubles Title at Upstate Fall Classic

Spartanburg, S.C. – Anna Zoske and Isabel von Stryk claimed the championship of the white doubles draw Sunday morning to cap competition at the USC Upstate Fall Classic from the USC Upstate Tennis Complex.
Zoske and von Stryk went a perfect 3-0 over the course of the weekend and won the title following their 8-6 victory over Kaylene Chadwell and Kelsey Coots of Chattanooga. The duo opened the tournament with an 8-1 win over Ericka Rivero and Hunter Hall of UNC Asheville before besting Greer Ransom and Claire-Mitchell Andrews of Presbyterian 8-2 in the semifinals.
Individually, von Stryk captured the individual title in the single black back draw after downing Amalie Davidsen of UNC Asheville 6-0, 6-0. After dropping her opening match in the main draw, von Stryk rebounded with a 2-6, 6-3, 6-4 win over Catherin Martin of Wofford on Saturday to qualify for the finals.
Upstate returns to the court Oct. 3-5 when the Spartans travel to Winston-Salem, N.C., to take part in the Wake Forest Invitational.
