
Upstate Concludes Action at Wake Forest Invitational

Winston-Salem, N.C. – The USC Upstate women's tennis team finished this weekend with two victories at the Wake Forest Invitational to wrap up play in its third fall tournament of the season.
Carol Sigaki recorded one victory in singles competition after taking part in the "B" Singles bracket. Sigaki began her play in the tournament with a 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 victory over Amy Ellis of UNC Greensboro. She would then drop a 1-6, 0-6 decision to Anna Ulyashchenko of Wake Forest.
In doubles play, the duo of Anna Zoske and Vale Zarama defeated Monica Aguado and Megan Kaufman of Winthrop 6-4 as part of the "B" Doubles Bracket. Zoske and Zarama then fell to Wake Forest's combination of Ulyashchenko and Emma Davis 6-3.
The Spartans are back in action Oct. 22-25 at the ITA Carolina Regional in Durham, N.C.
