
Upstate Wraps Up Road Trip this Weekend at Lipscomb, NJIT

Spartanburg, S.C. – The USC Upstate volleyball team finishes a four-match road trip this weekend as it heads north to face the Lipscomb Bisons and NJIT Highlanders in back-to-back A-Sun matches.
Upstate heads into the weekend with a 12-9 overall record and 0-5 mark in the conference following losses last weekend at Stetson and Florida Gulf Coast. Madison Haake recorded her eighth double-double of the season last Friday in the 3-1 loss against Stetson after compiling 10 kills and 18 digs.
Haake is tied with Lexi Gober for the league-lead in service aces with 28, and also ranks seventh in digs, eighth in kills and 10th in assists. Nationally, the freshman is third in double-doubles. Gober ranks third in the A-Sun in assists and eighth in digs, while Emily Koelling is third in blocks and sixth in kills. Shannon Weiss is sixth in the conference in digs.
As a team, the Spartans lead the nation in digs per set and attacks per set, and is second in both digs and attacks.
Lipscomb currently leads the A-Sun with a 5-0 record and is 12-7 overall. NJIT has an overall record of 6-15 while sitting at 1-4 against league opponents. Upstate trails 12-0 in the all-time series versus Lipscomb and is facing NJIT for the first time in program history.
