
Upstate Travels to Jacksonville Friday for A-Sun Championships

Spartanburg, S.C. – The USC Upstate cross country team heads south to Jacksonville, Fla. Friday morning for the A-Sun Championships hosted by North Florida at the John Hayt Golf Learning Center.
The competition begins at 8:30 a.m. with the running of the men's 8K followed by the women's 5K at 9:30 a.m.
The Upstate men ran to a fifth-place finish at last year's A-Sun Championships while the women placed eighth. Griffin Eubanks became the sixth Spartan in program history to earn All-Conference honors as he was named to the Second Team following an eighth-place performance. On the women's side, Anastasia Kolesnitchenko crossed the finish line in 39th place.
Eubanks turned in the top individual finish for Upstate two weeks ago at the Wake Forest Invitational where he placed 21st out of 174 runners as the men finished in 11th place overall. The Spartan women collected a 13th place finish led by Ashleigh Torres in the 85th position.
Official results for the race will be available on www.upstatespartans.com and www.atlanticsun.org following the completion of both races.
Upstate heads to Charlottesville, Va. on Nov. 14 for the NCAA Southeast Regionals.
