
Upstate Starts Four-Match Road Trip this Weekend at Stetson, FGCU

Spartanburg, S.C. – The USC Upstate volleyball team opens a four-match road trip this weekend as it heads south to the state of Florida to face Stetson and Florida Gulf Coast in A-Sun action.
Upstate holds a 12-7 record overall and is 0-3 against conference opponents after dropping a pair of league matches at home last weekend to North Florida and Jacksonville. Madison Haake recorded her fourth triple-double of the season against North Florida and added a double-double the following day versus Jacksonville. Lexi Gober and Kayla Eversgerd both picked up two double-doubles over the weekend.
The Spartans lead the nation in digs per set and attacks per set, while ranking second in digs and attacks. Haake tops the A-Sun this season in service aces, and is seventh in kills, eighth in digs and 10th in assists. Upstate has three players ranked in the top 10 in digs with Haake, Gober and Shannon Weiss. Gober ranks second in assists and Emily Koelling is tied for third in blocks.
Stetson enters the weekend with a 5-11 overall record and is 0-3 in conference play. Florida Gulf Coast currently sits at 11-7 on the season and 2-1 in the league. Upstate leads the all-time series over Stetson 7-6 but trail 12-0 against Florida Gulf Coast.
