Upstate Men Finish 25th, Women 31st at NCAA Southeast Regional

Charlottesville, Va. – Griffin Eubanks turned in the top individual performance for the USC Upstate cross country team Friday afternoon as the senior finished in 71st place at the NCAA Southeast Regional from Panorama Farms.
The men's team logged a 25th place finish overall while the women placed 31st.
Eubanks bested his mark from last year's race and now owns the third-best finish in school history, behind Gilbert Kemboi, at the Southeast Regional following his 10K personal-best time at Upstate of 31:20.60. The senior recorded the best individual finish of all A-Sun runners on Friday.
Eubanks was one of three Spartan men to post personal-best times in the 10K along with Alex Love and Theodore Kountourogiannis. Love compiled a time of 32:21.30 and Kountourogiannis added a mark of 32:47.80. Dorian Jones tallied a time of 34:17.60 followed by Mark Rennix at 34:58.20. Rounding out the men's race for Upstate was Martin Morrow (35:42.00) and Abraham Hernandez (36:06.40).
Haley McCoy achieved a new personal-best time in the 6K of 25:52.40 while Ashleigh Torres had the top performance for the Spartan women with her time of 24:52.80. Anastasia Kolesnitchenko compiled the second-fastest time for Upstate with a 25:11.10. The Spartans had three runners finish within eight seconds of each other in Essence Jackson (25:46.30), McCoy and Molly Bliss (25:54.30). Rebecca Elliott crossed the finish line in 27:03.00 and Kelsey Warren completed the course in a time of 28:11.50.
Virginia (women) and Louisville (men) took home the team regional championships, while Coastal Carolina's Letitia Saayman and Thomas Curtin of Virginia Tech won the individual competitions.
