Spartanburg, S.C. – USC Upstate sophomore midfielder Leon Schwarzer has been named a member of the Academic All-District Team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) for his performance both on the soccer field and in the classroom, it was recently announced by the organization.
The CoSIDA Academic All-America program is the premiere program in honoring college student-athletes for excellence in the classroom and in the field of play. Recipients must have a minimum GPA of 3.3 and reach their sophomore year academically. Nominees are voted on by sports information directors. By being selected as an All-District winner, Schwarzer will now be put in the pool for Academic All-America honors.
