Spartanburg, S.C. – The USC Upstate women's tennis team makes its final road trip of the season when the Spartans travel to Lipscomb Wednesday at 8 p.m. and Northern Kentucky Saturday at 10 a.m.
Spartan senior Isabel von Stryk enters the week leading Upstate with a 12-4 overall singles record and has won three consecutive matches. The Holm, Germany, native is tied for fourth in the conference in victories and has the second-most wins of anyone at the No. 1 position.
Freshman Nona Ruppert ranks second on the team with seven singles wins and is tied for the second-most of any A-Sun player at the No. 2 position.
Ruppert and von Stryk lead Upstate in doubles action with a 7-4 overall record.
"We are looking forward to these two matches because of how important they are," USC Upstate head coach Oliver Trittenwein said. "The outcomes will determine if we are in position to earn a spot in the A-Sun Tournament next month."
Lipscomb (9-9) has lost four of its last six matches and sits in fourth place in the conference standings. Northern Kentucky (5-10) ran its losing streak to four following a 7-0 setback Saturday at Florida Gulf Coast and currently ranks fifth in the A-Sun.
