
Upstate Continues Fall Season at Jacksonville Classic

Spartanburg, S.C. – The USC Upstate women's golf team plays in its third fall tournament of the season this week as the Spartans are scheduled to compete in the 14-team Jacksonville Classic from the par 72, 6051-yard Marsh Landing Country Club.
The Jacksonville Classic is a 54-hole tournament played over the course of two days. Teams will play 36 holes on Monday with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start. Tuesday will feature 18 holes of competition with tee times beginning at 8:30 a.m. also with a shotgun start.
Upstate is playing for the second time in two weeks after finishing 15th at the Lady Pirate Intercollegiate Sept. 26-27 in Greenville, N.C. Pan Paksanont led the Spartans on the individual leaderboard claiming a tie for 24th place after tying her career-low round of 72 on the final day. Sidney Dermody also compiled a career-low round on day one with a 72 in the first round.
Upstate will send out a five-player lineup this week consisting of Paksanont, Dermody, Payton Culler, Anna Chanthaphaeng and Allie Gennaula.
The Spartans are one of 14 teams competing at the Jacksonville Classic along with Daytona State, Florida Atlantic, Georgia Southern, Georgia State, Jacksonville, Jacksonville State, Longwood, Lynn University, Nova Southeastern, Oral Roberts, Seminole State, Stetson and West Florida.

The Spartans close out their fall season Oct. 10-11 at the Wofford Invitational from The Country Club of Spartanburg.
