
Senior Night, Coaches vs. Cancer Game Highlight Regular Season Finale as Upstate Hosts North Florida

Spartanburg, S.C. – The USC Upstate men's soccer team closes out its regular season Saturday evening as it hosts the North Florida Ospreys at 7 p.m. from County University Soccer Stadium. The game will also serve as Senior Night and Upstate's Coaches vs. Cancer Game.
The Spartans will honor Rinaldi Alphonse, Sam Moss, Davis Smith and Santiago Restrepo prior to the start of the game, while also raising awareness and funding for the fight against cancer.
Upstate (3-9, 1-4) finished out its road schedule last Saturday with a 3-0 defeat at 11th-ranked Florida Gulf Coast. The Spartans held a 6-4 advantage over FGCU in corner kicks and Joel Bunting attempted a team-high three shots including two on-goal. Smith also had two saves for Upstate.
North Florida enters the regular season finale with an 8-3-2 overall record and is 4-0-1 in ASUN play. The Ospreys are led offensively by Milan Kovacs and Adrian Nunez with 11 points each. Kovacs has five goals and one assist on the season, while Nunez adds four goals and three assists. UNF is under the direction of sixth-year head coach Derek Marinatos.
The Spartans and Ospreys are meeting for the 21st time in program history on Saturday with Upstate holding an 11-8-1 advantage in the all-time series. In the last meeting between the two teams, North Florida earned a 7-0 victory over the Spartans during the championship game of the ASUN Tournament in Jacksonville, Fla.
