
Women's Tennis to Host USC Upstate Invitational

Spartanburg, S.C. – The USC Upstate women's tennis team will resume its fall schedule this weekend as the Spartans host the USC Upstate Invitational on Saturday and Sunday. Austin Peay, Gardner-Webb, ETSU and Presbyterian College are expected to compete.
The hidden dual tournament begins Saturday at Noon with doubles competition between Presbyterian College and ETSU. Upstate will open the tournament in doubles action against Gardner-Webb before facing ETSU in singles play. The Spartans conclude the afternoon with singles and doubles play against Austin Peay.
On Sunday, Upstate will face Presbyterian College in singles action at 9 a.m. before playing ETSU in doubles at 11:45 a.m. to close out the tournament.
The Spartans opened their fall season at the WNC Mountain Challenge at Western Carolina Sept. 9-11 with singles flight wins by Taylor Dodd and Carol Sigaki. Sigaki and Vale Zarama teamed up to win their doubles flight. Upstate last competed at the USC Upstate Fall Classic Sept. 16-18.
Following a weekend off, Upstate will travel to Raleigh, N.C. to compete at the ITA Regionals on Oct. 20-23.
