
Upstate Slated to Compete this Weekend in Low Country Intercollegiate

Spartanburg, S.C. – The USC Upstate women's golf team will travel to the coast this weekend as the Spartans are scheduled to participate in the 8th Annual Low Country Intercollegiate hosted by Wofford at the par-72, 5,922-yard Moss Creek Golf Club – South Course in Hilton Head, S.C.
Upstate will send out a five-player lineup this weekend consisting of Payton Culler, Sidney Dermody, Allea Hawkins, Malika Allie and Allie Gennaula.
The Spartans are one of 18-teams set to participate in the Low Country Intercollegiate along with: Appalachian State, Bethune-Cookman, Brown, Bucknell, Chattanooga, The Citadel, Dalton State, Gardner-Webb, High Point, Longwood, Navy, Presbyterian College, SCAD, Seton Hall, USC Beaufort, William & Mary and Wofford.
The Low Country Intercollegiate will be a 36-hole tournament with 18 each to be played on Saturday and Sunday. Teams will tee off at 9:30 a.m. both days with a shotgun start.
Upstate turned in its best finish of the season Mar. 8-9 as it placed fifth at the Seminole State Spring Break with a 661 team score. Payton Culler led the Spartans individually after recording the best finish of her career by tying for eighth place highlighted by a final round 77. Culler posted the first top-10 performance of her career with a two-round score of 158.

The Spartans will travel to Morganton, N.C. Apr. 3-4 for the App State Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate.
