Spartanburg, S.C. – The USC Upstate men's soccer team hits the road for its first ASUN contest of the season as the Spartans travel to DeLand, Fla. Saturday afternoon to face the Stetson Hatters at 1 p.m. from the Athletic Training Center.
Upstate began its week on Tuesday with a 3-1 defeat at crosstown rival Wofford as it closed out the non-conference road portion of its schedule. Goalie Davis Smith had one save while Cam Philpot led Upstate with three shot attempts in the match and Sommer attempted one on-goal.
Stetson enters the weekend with a 2-4-2 overall record and is 0-1 in conference play. The Hatters are winless in their last four matches after dropping their conference opener on Wednesday with a 2-0 loss at Lipscomb. Stetson is led by first-year interim head coach Jared Vock.
