
Upstate Returns to the Course at Lady Pirate Intercollegiate

Spartanburg, S.C. – The USC Upstate women's golf team heads to Greenville, N.C. this week to compete in the 18-team Lady Pirate Intercollegiate hosted by East Carolina from the par 72, 6012-yard Greenville Country Club.
The Lady Pirate Intercollegiate will be played Monday and Tuesday with competition beginning at 8:30 a.m. both days. The teams are slated to play 36 holes on Monday with the final 18 set for Tuesday.
The Spartans are one of 18 teams competing during the two-day tournament along with Appalachian State, Charleston Southern, Cincinnati, East Carolina, Elon, Fairleigh Dickinson, Gardner-Webb, High Point, Marshall, McNeese State, Morehead State, Presbyterian College, Southern Miss, Towson, Western Carolina, Western Kentucky and Winthrop.
Upstate will be sending out a five-player lineup consisting of Pan Paksanont, Payton Culler, Sidney Dermody, Anna Chanthaphaeng and Caroline Heustess.
The Spartans opened their season Sept. 12-13 at the CSU Fall Invitational in Mount Pleasant, S.C. where they finished in ninth place. Playing in her first collegiate tournament, Paksanont led Upstate individually as the freshman tied for 11th place with a combined score of 221.

The Spartans travel to Jacksonville, Fla. Oct. 3-4 for the Jacksonville Classic at Marsh Landing Country Club.
