
Upstate Continues Fall Season at Jacksonville Classic

Spartanburg, S.C. – The USC Upstate women's golf team resumes its 2017 fall season on Monday and Tuesday when it travels to Jacksonville, Fla. to compete in the 15-team Jacksonville Classic from the par 72, 5,967-yard Marsh Landing Country Club.
The Jacksonville Classic is a 54-hole tournament played over the course of two days. Teams will play 36 holes on Monday with an 8:30 a.m. start. Tuesday will feature 18 holes of competition with tee times also beginning at 8:30 a.m.
Upstate will be sending out a five-player lineup consisting of Pan Paksanont, Anna Chanthaphaeng, Payton Culler, Sidney Dermody and Brooke Hutto.
The Spartans are competing at the Jacksonville Classic along with Jacksonville, Bethune-Cookman, Charleston Southern, Daytona State, Flagler, Florida Atlantic, Georgia Southern, Georgia State, Jacksonville State, Lipscomb, Seminole State, Stetson, UAB and Xavier.
Paksanont led Upstate last week at the Boston College Intercollegiate after finishing tied for 21st place and posted a team-leading 4.30 stroke average in par 4 scoring and six birdies. Culler also contributed a team-best even-par 5.00 stroke average in par 5 scoring and 31 pars. As a team, the Spartans finished in 14th place with a combined score of 946 (312-310-324).

The Spartans return to the course Oct. 16-17 for the FAU Fall Invitational at the Osprey Point Golf Course in Boca Raton, Fla.
