Spartans Set 11 Personal Bests at Pirate Invitational

Grimesland, N.C. – In their final tune-up before the ASUN Championships, the USC Upstate cross country teams saw 11 new personal bests including two times that rank in the top-10 in program history at their specific distance.
The men's team finished in sixth place while the women's team finished in seventh place.
Noteworthy
- Dorian Jones finished with a new personal best time of 25:19.41. Jones' time is the fifth-fastest time in school history at the 8K distance.
- Marcy Bradshaw continued her strong freshman season as she finished her first collegiate 6K race with a time of 23:18.79. Bradshaw holds the eighth-fastest time in school history at that distance.
- The women finished with a team average time of 24:17.90 while the men finished with an average time of 26:30.92.
- Bradshaw, Kelsey Warren, Fatima Pedroza and Mia Davis each finished with a new personal best for the women's team. On the men's side, Jones, Jacob Coccia, Jared Coccia, Roman Mealing, Marcus Miles, Cory Tate and Derek Schumacher finished with their fastest times.
- Bakri Abushouk of East Carolina was the individual winner of the men's race. Duke was the top finishing team, edging East Carolina by one point.
- East Carolina's Grace Sullivan finished in first place in the women's race. College of Charleston was the team winner.
