
Upstate Travels to Presbyterian College on Wednesday for Non-Conference Finale

Spartanburg, S.C. – The USC Upstate volleyball team plays its final non-conference match of the season on Wednesday evening when it travels to Clinton, S.C. to face the Presbyterian College Blue Hose at 6 p.m. to conclude a five-match road trip.
The Spartans continued their road trip last weekend dropping a pair of matches at Kennesaw State and Lipscomb. Montana Swanson led Upstate offensively against Kennesaw State with eight kills to go with nine digs while Madison Haake just missed on a double-double with 23 assists and eight digs. Haake followed with 23 assists at Lipscomb while Dempsey led the team with nine kills.
Dempsey leads the Spartans this season with 186 kills and is averaging 2.55 kills per set. Haake has dished out 537 assists and 20 service aces while Kaleigh Kelley contributes a team-leading 279 digs. McKenna Kirkpatrick also leads the team with 47 total blocks.
Upstate currently ranks third in the ASUN this season in digs per set and fourth in digs. Haake ranks tied for fourth in the conference in assists, sixth in assists per set and tied for eighth in service aces. Kelley sits sixth in the league in digs and eighth in digs per set.
Presbyterian College enters the week with a 5-16 overall record and hosts UNC Asheville in Big South play on Tuesday evening. Erin Eulitz leads the Blue Hose offensively with 227 kills while Jaclyn Brewington has dished out 448 assists. Daley Gosnell and Allie Wright pace the PC defense with 403 digs and 53 total blocks, respectively. Presbyterian College is under the direction of fifth-year head coach Korrinn Burgess.
The Spartans and Blue Hose are meeting for the 56th time in program history with Upstate holding a 32-23 lead in the all-time series. The Spartans won the previous meeting 3-2 last season in Spartanburg in their final non-conference match of the year.
