
Upstate Hosts Florida Gulf Coast on Senior Night

Spartanburg, S.C. – The USC Upstate men's soccer team will make its final regular season appearance at County University Soccer Stadium on Saturday evening as the Spartans host the Florida Gulf Coast Eagles at 7 p.m.
Prior to the match, Upstate will honor nine senior student-athletes during its Senior Night festivities. The nine players being recognized are Lukas Sommer, Heiko Allmendinger, Daniel Perry, Calon Minors, Kyle Juell, Victor Borba Labi, Ryan Herbert and Santiago Restrepo.
Upstate is 2-9-2 overall after wrapping up its non-conference slate on Tuesday with a 6-1 loss at Gardner-Webb. Cam Philpot scored his team-leading fourth goal of the season for Upstate while CJ Cluck made six saves in goal. Cluck is the reigning ASUN Defensive Player of the Week.
Philpot leads the Spartans offensively this season with nine points on four goals and one assist. Minors has dished out a team-leading two assists while Cluck adds 23 saves.
Florida Gulf Coast is 6-4-2 overall and 3-0-1 in the ASUN following a 1-1 tie at Stetson last Saturday. Shak Adams leads the Eagles with five goals and 12 points. Dylan Sacramento has attempted a team-best 28 shots thus far. Conner Gavigan is 5-3-2 in goal with 44 saves. Jesse Cormier is in his first season as head coach at FGCU.
Upstate and Florida Gulf Coast are meeting for the 12th time in program history on Saturday.
