
Dempsey Earns Third ASUN Freshman of the Week Honor

LakePoint, Ga. – USC Upstate right side Lily Dempsey was recognized by the ASUN Conference this afternoon as the Volleyball Freshman of the Week following her performance in two matches last week against Presbyterian College and NJIT.
Dempsey receives her third career ASUN Freshman of the Week accolade after leading Upstate offensively to a 2-0 record. The Moore, S.C. native compiled 30 kills and averaged 3.33 kills per set over the week. She also added eight total blocks (two solo, six assisted) and five digs.
Dempsey began the week by leading all scorers with 18 kills as the Spartans recorded a 3-2 comeback victory at Presbyterian College in their final non-conference match of the season. She followed that performance with 12 kills and six blocks in a 3-1 home victory against NJIT. The six blocks are the most recorded by Dempsey in an ASUN match this year.
This season, Dempsey has a 2.63 kills per set average which ranks her second among all ASUN freshmen.
