
Upstate Travels to North Florida on Saturday for Regular Season Finale

Spartanburg, S.C. – The USC Upstate men's soccer team will play its final game of the regular season on Saturday evening when it travels to Jacksonville, Fla. to face the North Florida Ospreys at 7 p.m. from Hodges Stadium.
Upstate enters the weekend with a 3-9-2 overall record and 1-4 conference mark while North Florida sits at 2-9-2 on the season and 1-3-1 against ASUN opponents.
The Spartans closed out the home portion of their schedule last Saturday by defeating Florida Gulf Coast for the second time in program history behind two goals over the final 27 minutes of the first half. Hamilton Gmah scored the game-winning goal with five seconds left before halftime while Calon Minors tied the game in the 28th minute. Cam Philpot dished out his second assist of the season and CJ Cluck finished the game with four saves.
Philpot leads Upstate offensively this season with 10 points on four goals and two assists. Minors is tied with Philpot for the team-lead in assists while Cluck has compiled 27 saves.
UNF is under the direction of seventh-year head coach Derek Marinatos. Adrian Nunez leads North Florida offensively with 11 points on five goals and one assist. Collin Scott has dished out a team-leading two assists. In goal, Juanes Fajardo has grabbed 43 saves while Tord Pedersen contributes a 1.68 goals against average.
The Spartans and Ospreys are meeting for the 22nd time in program history with Upstate holding an 11-9-1 lead in the all-time series.
