
Hatters Top Spartans on Friday Night

Spartanburg, S.C. – The Stetson Hatters scored three goals in a 7 minute, 30 second first half stretch as they defeated USC Upstate 4-1 in ASUN Conference women's soccer action on Friday night at County University Soccer Stadium.
Stetson improves to 7-2-3 overall and 2-0-2 in league play while Upstate drops to 6-6-1 and 1-1-1.

- Upstate outshot Stetson 18-16 while the Hatters held an 8-7 edge in shots on goal.
- Abbie Ellis attempted a match-high six shots for the Spartans. Isabella Burns took four shots.
- Sarah Collins led Stetson with three shots.

- Brooke Bailey made four saves for Upstate.

- Florencia Baldassini gave the Hatters a 2-0 lead with her second goal of the year in the 35th minute. (Stetson 2, USC Upstate 0)
- Allison Zaccheo fed a ball to Adrianna Suarez in the right side of the 18-yard box, with Suarez firing it in for her second goal of the year in the 39th minute. (Stetson 3, USC Upstate 0)
- Baldassini sent a ball into traffic on a free kick where Greta Watkins deflected it in for her first goal of the year in the 52nd minute. (Stetson 4, USC Upstate 0)
USC Upstate Goals
- On a corner kick, Ellis played a ball into a crowded box where Emelie Valenciano broke free and scored her third goal of the year in the 55th minute. (Stetson 4, USC Upstate 1)
